TikCook Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 3, 2026
What we collect
- Account information: full name, email address, phone number, and a
securely hashed password (we never store your plain-text password).
- Content you upload: recipe photos, recipe details (title,
description, ingredients, steps, calories, etc.), reel videos and cover images, comments,
and emoji reactions.
- Usage data: which recipes/reels you like or save, and in-app
notifications generated by other users' activity (likes, comments) on your content.
- Crash and diagnostic data: if the app crashes or encounters an error,
Firebase Crashlytics automatically collects a crash report (stack trace, device model, OS
version) to help us fix bugs. This is not linked to your identity beyond an anonymous
installation ID.
- Push notification token: a device-specific token used by Firebase
Cloud Messaging to deliver notifications to your device.
We do not currently collect location data or advertising identifiers.
How we use it
- To operate your account (login, session refresh, password reset via a one-time code
sent to your email).
- To display your content (recipes, reels, comments) to other users of the app.
- To send you in-app and push notifications when someone likes, comments on, or
follows your content/account.
Where it's stored
Account and content metadata is stored in a database operated by TikCook. Uploaded
photos and videos are stored on TikCook's own server infrastructure or in an Amazon S3
bucket, depending on deployment configuration.
Third parties
- One-time password-reset codes are sent via a third-party SMTP relay.
- Push notifications are delivered via Google's Firebase Cloud Messaging.
- If S3 storage is configured, uploaded media is stored with Amazon Web Services (AWS).
We do not sell your data to third parties.
Your choices
To request deletion of your account and associated content, see our
data deletion instructions. You can stop using the app
at any time; uninstalling it does not by itself delete your server-side account or
content.
Children's privacy
TikCook is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data
from children under that age.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Continued use of the app after a change
means you accept the updated policy.
